Yes folks the rumours were true. And Mad Pride is thrilled to welcome Britain's answer to Captain Beefheart, the truly legendary Edgar Broughton. Fresh from an appearance on the Spirit of 71 Stage at Glastonbury we cannot wait to experience this one. Will he perform Out Demons Out - an anthem which applies so fittingly to the present suits in power? This will be a Mad Pride extravaganza not to be forgotten. And not to be missed! Out Demons Out. Oh my word yes.

Another fundraiser anti mental health benefits cuts. Mad Pride is pleased to welcome back the amazing Valerie and Her Week of Wonders (Jowe Head formerly Swell Maps) together with a feast of performers as varied and extraordinary as ever. Please come along if you can possibly get there! There won't be another one after this right up until October, when the legendary Edgar Broughton, we hear, will appear at a Mad Pride extravaganza. Out Demons Out. Oh my word yes.
Many thanks for all the contributions and the support for the gigs and campaigns so far. About £700 has been raised.
April 2011 - A Feast of Fools

Yes folks another fundraiser for the campaign against mental health benefits cuts with the new Mental Health Resistance Network. This one promises to be a humdinger. Should be a great evening in South London on Saturday.
Many thanks for all the contributions and the support at the Joyners Arms in March and the one at the Montagu Arms in February. About £300 has been raised so far. This will go towards costs of the next gig, a banner (at demos), postage and stuff.
Planning is Happening
Update 2011 - Planning for demos is now going on with the Mental Health Resistance. An executive (planning group) is currently meeting at least once a month, either in Kennington or Camberwell.
About thirty people attended a meeting in Pogo's Cafe in Hackney, East London in July 2010. Loads of ideas for the shape of a Campaign were put forward. A small group is now going to meet on 14th August to work on ways of supporting the Campaign.
New Campaign for Autumn 2010
Welfare Benefits under Threat from the new Coalition Government!
Those cuts, many of which are not yet announced sound really scary right? Putting mental health suvivors in the UK under extreme stress - adversely affecting our mental health. This is not good.
So Mad Pride folk have decided to join in with other survivors to plan an Anti-Benefits Cuts Campaign of Direct Action in 2010. We can't just do nothing until we find ourselves living in cardboard boxes (remember them?).
