March on Streatham Jobcentre - Friday 26th June

The Mental Health Resistance Network has called for a Protest against providing mental health services at Jobcentres.

They are calling for a March - meet at 1.30pm at Streatham Memorial Gardens - and we will move off round the corner to Streatham Job Centre.

Why is this important? Streatham Jobcentre Plus is one of the pilot offices - but it is expected it will be rolled out across the UK.
And the potential implications are huge. There is the issue of Forced Therapy (which is not therapy at all) so that if you don't undertake the therapy (some of which is to be conducted online) you may lose ESA and/or DLA/PIP. And when the therapy is "complete" you may lose those benefits anyway.
At the same time this allows the Government to cut even further mental health services in the NHS. And that has been severely cut back during the last five years - despite promises of the health budgets being protected.
