Survey

Postby JoAnne » Wed Feb 02, 2011 12:54 pm

I work for a disability organisation called Richmond AID. We are currently putting together a response to the governments latest proposals on the change of DLA to 'Personal Independance Payments' - PIP. The proposals will mean things like people on PIP having to go for regular face to face meetings with 'medically qualified personel'. This means going for a medical run by ATOS, and anyone who has ESA will know what this entails. They want to cut DLA by 20%, they want to take the mobility component away from people in wheelchairs (because they can mobilise), and they think paying DLA is a disincentive to people working (whereas it is often the only reason people can fund going to work). Please go to Richmond AID's website on www.s140800819.websitehome.co.uk , (sorry not very user friendly, alternatively put Richmond AID into google) and fill in the survey to let us know what you think of the proposal.

Yeah thanks for that JoAnne. And what's more the deadline is really soon. The deadline for the DLA Reform consultation is Monday the 14th of February 2011. Cuts rushed through once again in the hope that as few people notice as possible.
