Open Call for Articles
Eleusinian Press is a new small press, we will be launching with a quarterly non-academic journal. We will be drawing from all areas of knowledge: academic, lay, professional writers, talented amateurs, part-timers and full-time scribes. Later we will be turning to monographs and edited volumes around specific subject areas.
The quarterly journal will consist of a limited edition print run of 1000 units and an electronic unlimited version. We are looking for both writers and illustrators.
The journals will be paid opportunities, the payment system is a democratic one similar to eighties post-punk record labels such as Rough Trade, Mute and Factory. Each production will be costed as a unit and the profits of that unit will then be split between the Press as one entity and all contributors, both writers and illustrators, as the other entity. The split will be 50/50.
The Press’ main focus will be angled around three main axes: Madness, Politics and Music, these will further rotate around the twin explorations of psycho-thought and outsider-thought.
We will be commissioning some articles for the journal’s we are looking to fill up the next two in this call at least, there is no deadline for submissions but the next two issues have the publication deadlines of September and June, so final submissions need to be in by early August for consideration for the first issue. Please send short outlines of potential submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org
